NewsBreak Channels
There are hundreds of thousands of news feeds available to you! Here are a
few ways to get the ones you care about into NewsBreak!
Built-In Options: By selecting New from the Menu soft-key in NewsBreak you gain access to a
number of great ways to add more channels:
- Choose from a List: We include a large selection of channels built-in to
get you started. And if you select the More Channels option from this list while your device is connected to
the Internet, you can pull a list of additional channels straight from our site!
- Search Online for Channels: NewsBreak offers the ability to use both Microsoft Live Search and
Syndic8.com's database to quickly search for channels that interest you.
- Import from a file or URL (OPML): Many news readers let you export your feed list in a format
that ends with .OPML. Put this file in the My Documents folder on your device, select "Import from a file" in NewsBreak,
and choose the file you copied over. You can also import from a URL by entering the URL for an OPML file.
- Enter the URL manually: If you know the URL for a feed, you can type it directly into NewsBreak.
The easiest way to find RSS feeds for your favorite sites is to use the "Search Online for Channels" option described
above. This will usually find all the news feeds for whatever site you choose.
Or visit the site and look for the link to their feed. The link often has an orange and white icon with the
words "RSS feed" or "XML feed" in it. Click this icon to go to the site's feed. Write down the URL
and enter it into NewsBreak using the "Enter the URL manually" option when adding a new feed.
